For Eerin Taylor, the mission of CategorE 5.0 is deeply personal. As a mother of three boys, she understands the natural curiosity children have about water—and the dangers that come with it. With decades of experience teaching aquatics safety to youth, adolescents, and adults, she has seen firsthand how critical swim education is in preventing tragedies.
Drowning is one of the leading causes of death among children, especially during the summer months. Yet, what makes this heartbreaking reality even more devastating is that it is preventable. Eerin’s passion for water safety stems from a firm belief that every child deserves access to life-saving swim education, regardless of their background.
Through CategorE 5.0, she is on a mission to bridge the gap in water safety education by providing swimming lessons and certification programs that empower children with the confidence and skills needed to stay safe in and around the water. Her goal isn’t just to teach kids how to swim—it’s to save lives, create opportunities, and ensure that no parent has to experience the loss of a child due to a preventable drowning.
Eerin’s commitment to water safety extends beyond the pool. She actively works to advocate for drowning prevention awareness in communities where access to swim education has historically been limited. Under her leadership, CategorE 5.0 is not just a swim program—it’s a movement dedicated to ensuring that children, families, and entire communities understand the importance of water safety and are equipped with the tools to protect themselves.
For Eerin, this is more than a program—it’s a legacy of life-saving education and empowerment.
